Help help. It's Scott's 27th Birthday in a few weeks (yes, June 13th, best day of the year for both of us!). My dear sweetheart and I will be enjoying our special day at SIX FLAGS!!! Woohooooo! But I need gift ideas. What do I give to the man I love on his 27th birthday? This is a tricky one. Scott has everything, and anything he doesn't have but desires, I cannot afford! The man has expensive hobbies:
Flying, scuba-diving, model-making, radio-controlling aircraft, racket ball, camping, (ANYING AND EVERYTHING outdoorsy, he's an eagle scout), rock climbing, range shooting, computer-anything, underwater photography, collecting the following: baseball cards, rocks & gems, keychains, cookbooks, "Ensign" and "Backpacker" magazines, loose change, illegal (in CA) fireworks and firecrackers, wedding invitations and special occasion cards that have been given to him over the years (he has a box full of these).... I'm sure I'm missing several things. Check out his site (link on my page to the right) and see if you encounter more inspiration on the matter than I have.
Email me @ Lborialis@juno.com with your thoughts.
Do it. I command it. Now. Go. Hurry. Faster. Giddy up.
And thank you.

Also, comments on the fact that, on this same day, I will be transitioning from "single white female" to "menace to society" are strictly prohibited on this site. I am only a quarter of a century old. That's still way younger than all you old farts. ;p
(I just lost all my birthday gift privilages, didn't I...?)

Also....
I have lost three pounds since I began running again!!!!!!
That's right. Everyone stand and do a jig in my honour. It's DANG hard for me to lose weight.
Especially when Kelli and Adam feed me as well as they do when I visit. Mmmmmmm...... Haight Food......

"To Market, To Market, To Sell a fat hog!"...

So I have missed two running days so far. The first, because I worked from 7 - 5 and then went out to Kelli's house immediately afterwards with Scott, who had an appointment in the area. I should have planned ahead and run earlier in the AM, but I didn't. So I decided to make it up by running fifteen extra minutes every day for four days. Yeah, it hasn't happened yet. I missed today because I bought new running shoes on Thursday and they decided not to get along with my heels on Friday morning as I ran. In the words of Andy from "The Office", "I've got some blisties". Painful suckers, so I avoided running this morning and am currently regretting it for the lathargic feeling I'm having. I will have to make up for the missed running sessions over the next week or so.

I am so saddened. My big brother doesn't believe that I can run at six miles per hour for an entire hour. Ask Taylor Theis! She's done it with me! Dude, I totally do. I may be chunky, but I'm in pretty darn good shape. ;p

I'm in the process of downloading all episodes of The Office and The IT Crowd onto my laptop. Good times. Man, I'm pretty boring at the moment. Not much to say. I run, I swim, I play with Scott, and I work. I guess I'll write more when I have more to write.
Love you guys.

A few pictures from my work. Thought it would be fun to share. I shouldn't post too much, and I'm not allowed to show any aircraft Tail Numbers for security purposes, but I thought I'd give you a taste of what I get to do.

Out my window at work. Fuel truck gettin ready to do what they do.Navajo at dawn on our ramp.
A King Air behind a Turbo Commander. See my car?
Our customers' beloved coffee station.
A Citation II prepares to taxi outside my door.
several small tomohawks parked in the flight school's section of our ramp.
my desk is to the left. This is what our customers see when they walk in off a jet.
And this is what they see when they come in from the parking lot.

It's noisey here. Lots of jets about 200 feet away. This picture was taken a year ago, when I was new and before we had our remodel.
this too.
Inside our front desk area. I sit on the right by the phone and all the radios.
My boss, Emily, sits here.
The tour is now complete. Come visit me at work sometime. It's super neat.

I just can't post it all online.

More posts coming soon.

Condolicious.

our big, beautiful closet, only half of which is visable. The cool thing is that there are STAIRS in this closet. Big, carpeted stairs leading up to the attic. It's awesome. Perfect for Little Lori, who stands at less than FIVE FEET TALL. She gets that side of the closet so that she can clibm the stairs to reach her things. If you look at the bottom left side of the closet, you can see the first step. They are HUGE stairs, and I think there are four. I'm too lazy to go look. The point is, there is enough room for all of our things and then some. We love it.

how quaint.

an organized shower is a happy shower.

Courtney's garden
Look, Jesus is awaiting your ascent.
I've never even been in this bathroom. Mine is in my room.

This one is to the left of the top of the stairs.
Down the stairs or into my room?
Little Lori's bed. Look at the SPACE!!!!
laundry and yet another bathroom.
KITCHEN! Yes, it is very blue. And I love it.
Again, note the spaciousness thereof.
Scott demonstrates how one may dance about in the space available in our rather large kitchen (considering the average size of apartment kitchens).
Sunny backyard... or patio thing... whatever, it's more of a backyard than I've had in years!

Scott adds to the delightful look of my apartment when he is present.
See? Imagine this livingroom without his handsome self within. Not quite as grand, eh?
Again, enjoy the Scottiness. And the bay window. I should put a Scott in the bay window. That would just make this condo glow!
This angle is not great. It lacks a certain Scottish effect.
View from living room into dining room. "Ooo, aahh, we appreciate it".

SF Ballet
San Fran Opera House, night of SF Ballet New Works Festival.
Courtney Perry! Friend from Dance. Super creative. Good times. Taqueria
view straight down from our Berkley Hotel (City Club) into the conservatory. View from the hotel lift.
The view from our Berkley Hotel out across UC Berkley
San Fran City Hall, right across from the opera theatre where we saw the San Fran Ballet.

I'm sitting here studying the last of Irmgard Bartinieff's fundamental principles of movement. Highly stimulating stuff. But now I want to post the pictures I had forgotten last post and then head off to bed. Enjoy.

Perhaps I was unclear. For anyone who thought I was actually going to make a decision based on your answers in my poll, you were wrong and you probably smell bad too. It was just for fun. I wanted to see what all of you would do if you were me. I would never take the winning option of a poll and go with it! Don't worry. I'm a grown up. I know better. I'm not taking action on this for a while anyway. Just thinking it over.
Now vote! ;p

Sunday, May 11, 2008

So.... Last night I became really depressed for some reason. Had to go to bed and have a good cry. What a girl I am. And I didn't realize that I look so huge in that dress!!!!! I need to run. I'll make this brief so I can go.
Also, if you haven't yet, please vote on my car poll. I changed it, so vote again. And if you chose the "Get a bike" option, vote again, because that was just a joke, not an actual option. I can't make it from school to work in time on a bike (or in a dress or three piece suit!). Otherwise I would scrap my car and get a bike right now! Oh well. Pick a car option. Thanks. Weeeeeeee! Spinning.

ug, I look terrible. Scott and I busted out our cameras after church to get a few shots of me in the dress, beacuse apparently we forgot to take pictures in San Fran.
It's simple, but really nice. I bought a couple of scarves/shawls to wear with it, just to make it a bit fancier. It worked. And the shoes are ADORABLE. I don't like the way I look in the pictures, though. Bleh.

Aw

Look, he wants us for Sunbeams, ok?

And the back

So somber on our way to the temple back in... a past month sometime
I think we're lost.
No, we don't have lazy eyes. It's super bright out here.

So bright it makes my nose crinkle.
My captain is ready and so am I. Look how tiny this airplane is! My hand is hugh next to the entire control panel. And check out the wooden propellor up front! Why I failed to take a picture of the entire plane, I don't know. It's practically smaller than ME!
Doin' his thing.
In monterey (I forgot to add these to that old post. They were on Scott's camera).
I guard the fishies.

Ok, time to run. I took pictures of my new apartment. I'll post them later.
