First of all, I'd like to point out how lame I am being right now. I could have and should have put effort into a nice blog about Scooty-my-love for his 27th birthday, or about my wonderful Daddy for... helloooooo..... FATHER'S DAY! Come on, Laura. I also have plans to post blogs about my birthday at six flags, flying and airplane with Scott, and writing a funny story to some funny pictures Scott and I took on a date. But nooooo.... When I finally get around to blogging, it is only to comment on the ridiculous (and probably completely random) judgements of a blog-reading-level-judgery-thingy (see, I should score a college level right there!). I saw this on my cousin Wendy's blog. This is a woman of great writing talent, whose postings constantly keep me engaged and anxious to read more. Her level according to this source: Junior High.... You have got to be kidding me. See the link to her page on the right to read her follow-up on this. If you understand it at all, come back and see me so I can kick you (I hardly understood half of it...).
So how is it, my dear friends, that this blog has been rated at a high school level? I mean, I do go to college, but really? Higher than Wendy's? I call shinanighans.

If you have ever had the pleasure of a surprise bubbling, you will know the joy of which I speak.
When a messy bottle of liquid dish soap (with excess amounts of dried soap stuck to the outside of the nozzle) gets wet and is then squeezed while standing straight up (so that air comes out before soap), a miraculous thing happens; a surprise bubbling! Itty bitty bubbles go flying all over, and the subject (so long as they are not a complete fool) is left in awe of the sight. It's a glorious encounter that only a few, privilaged dish-doers have the pleasure of experiencing. We pay the price of wrinkled hands for a sight that even the internet cannot capture (I know. I searched for quite some time. No images of accidental or surprise bubblings, no matter how you phrase it...).
I had a surprise bubbling tonight at work, which is lucky, because it was a pretty lousy night of work. Excessively busy, extremely loud... We had a Hawker 800 running their APU for an hour after landing. It made a high-pitched squeal like feedback from a microphone. That noise, powered by one of the largest non-commercial jet engines available, sat 300 feet from me, separated by a piece of plexiglass. I was stuck rather unhappily answering phones and struggling to decipher radio transmissions through the noise. Can we say headache? When a NetJets pilot asked me to wash his dishes, I was ready to break the plates over his head. I took the dishes into the back kitchen with a smile and begrudgingly began to wash. As I reached for the dishsoap, the Hawker shut off the APU, silence kissed my ears, and God decided to pat me on the head with a surprise bubbling when I picked up the half-empty and rather messy bottle of soap.
SPLURT! *Gasp*
"PREEEEEETTY!!!!!! BUBBLLLLLLLLLLLLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Little bubbles everywhere!"
And for a moment, I am happily five years old again. Mine forever. What a fantastic life.
:) The End.

Today, while lounging about at the Haight's home, Karly displayed her natural ability to take charge. The girl may be one of my best friends, but she sure won't let that get in the way of standard procedure.
Kelli was at the table working on her laptop. Adam, Karly, and Scott were all sitting at the counter bar eating lunch. I was enjoying the view in the fish tank, commenting on activity therein, when I noted "That big yellow fish is a real brat!" There was a moment of natural silence. Karly, clearly having thought this through, leaned back in her tall bar chair and said "Laura..."
"Yes?", I replied.
"In our family, it is not ok to say "Brat", she explained in a matter-of-fact way.
All of us struggled to supress giggles, and as we did, I squeaked out a little "I'm sorry, Karly".
More silence and supressed gigges, and then, with every ounce of attitude in her little body, Karly quietly yet directly stated...
"You should be sorry."
Breathless laughter broke out in all of us. She may be only four years old and the only person under the age of 25 in the room, but that will never stop Karly from saying what she thinks.
